The FIP President

Dr Kamal K Midha was elected President of FIP at the 66th FIP Congress in Salvador Bahia, Brazil and will fulfill this term until the FIP Congress in Lisbon, Portugal in 2010.
In his role as President Dr Midha has made it top priority to raise awareness and advocacy for key issues facing the pharmacy profession and the pharmaceutical sciences. Through his steadfast multilevel communication with all stakeholders of FIP – from direct and local contact with Member Organisations to high level meetings with global health leaders – Dr Midha continues to push for the development of worldwide pharmacy education, inter-professional dedication to patient safety - including fighting counterfeit medicines - and increased collaboration and concerted efforts between pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. These efforts continue to support FIP in its vision for the future and the mission through which it will be accomplished.
